Founded in 1988, Homeboy has become the third-largest streetwear brand in the world. Three decades ago, streetwear focused primarily on skateboarding culture. Although Homeboy's roots lie in skateboarding, from the very beginning, the company focused its business on the music industry.
1988 is considered the year hip-hop's rise. Iconic groups such as Public Enemy, Run-DMC, N.W.A., and Ice-T radically transformed the scene, both musically and fashionably. Homeboy expertly captures the vibe of rap culture and the artists' spirit, transmuting them into unique and fashionable creations. Since 1989, the brand has dressed legendary German rapper Moses Pelham. The Fantastic Four joined the collection in 1991.
During the 1980s, the first action sports paved the way for a future that indelibly shaped an entire generation of athletes. Skateboarding spawned a sense of cool that left an indelible mark on fashion over the years and decades. Skinny jeans, the latest fashion trend, are a legacy of skaters.
The Warped Tour, which began in 1993, fused skateboarding, snowboarding, surfing, and music to create a lifestyle that radically transformed an entire generation. The Homeboy group consisted of skateboarders, snowboarders, BMX riders, motorcyclists, surfers, wakeboarders, and freeskiers. This legacy remains deeply rooted in people's minds today.
